Calculator Forums

Calculator Forums are the places to discuss calculators and ask questions.
There are three forums for calculators, with questions, answers, appeals for specific calculators and parts, and items offered for disposal.

Vintage Calculator "Newsgroup"/Forum

Those of us who collect a variety of calculators have needed a newsgroup to call our own. IACC member James Redin has been nice enough to set up the next best thing -- The Vintage Calculator Forum is a forum/posting area for discussion of vintage calculating devices. (Actually it's better since it is a bit more secure against spammers.)
If you have questions, comments, or any other kind of postings, that's the place for you. The subject matter can include calculators of all types -- early electronic, desktop, pocket, mechanical, Addiator-types, modern LCD, novelty, old slide rules, Curtas, and anything else that comes to mind.
Go visit it at: Vintage Calculator Forum.

Automatic Calculator Email List

Thanks to Kevan Heydon, the calculator world has a new automatic email list, the eGroups oldcalcs forum. This list will deal with subjects in the vintage calculator arena (electronic - portable & pocket - and some of the mechanical items).
How do you get on the list?
Go to the ecalc list page and sign in under group info. Once a member, you can email them a message using the instructions found on that page.
Your email note will be automatically forwarded to everyone who is on the calculator email list. People can respond to you directly or by emailing back to the list.
You must be a subscriber to post a message. This will help protect your email address.
This list is similar to that run by Erez Kaplan (see his web site listed in our website link section). People on that list are primarily interested in mechanical calculators. We do not want to take anything away from that service, so please email the larger mechanical and older calculating machine items to his.

CALCLIST-L

CALCLIST-L is a forum mainly concerned with mechanical calculators, but also has some discussion on electronic calculators.
View the forum archive at http://tx.technion.ac.il/archives/calclist-l.html.
You need to register to send items to the forum, and items can be automatically emailed to you as they are posted on the forum - details are on the site.
